Tusker Wallow Summary
BOOK FOUR: TUSKER WALLOW
A year has passed since Kate’s forced exodus from Kenya, when she receives news from her colleagues at the research camp; a member of their team has been murdered. The authorities plan to revoke all research permits, close the camp and halt Kate’s program. With no one to pressure the government to enforce anti-poaching laws, the elephants of Amboseli will soon become extinct. With the baseball season well underway, Jack has no choice but to remain in Chicago while Kate journeys back to Kenya—a risky undertaking that Jack warns her against. Kate quickly learns that it will be impossible to negotiate with the Kenyan government and the park service, for as soon as the government receives word of Kate’s return, a warrant is issued for her arrest.
